I'm going to get political on you

Tonight, we were at a meeting to train home group leaders. Many of the folks attending had been pastors and home group leaders in the past.

One woman I talked with after tonight's session was over had been a resident of Arkansas many years ago and began to describe how Mike Huckabee had turned the entire state around from the Clinton years. She said before Huckabee took office, there was disorder in the schools with many minority students not even graduating from high school. She said that Arkansas was home base to many Internet pornography sites. She described how many rapes there were before Governor Huckabee came into office and how the morals of the state had declined dramatically under the Clinton administration.

Now you have to understand, this woman was not a white pastor in a big all white church. No, she was ministering and living in one of the worst neighborhoods in her city. She saw the disorder every day.

A few years later after she had been away, she came back, and the change was drastic...in a good sort of way. Now, hopefully, I am getting all of the details right, but it is clear that when a godly man is "ruling"...the people rejoice. Her description of the state before Huckabee was that it was like a cloud of darkness covered the entire state...and after...a total change.

I encourage you to vote, but to vote for a man who has been consistent in his walk with God...excellent in his ability to govern, and willing to face the giants...the giants who say he cannot win.

This is a time to speak through your vote...and choose someone who will uphold the principles on which this country was originally founded.

I also had the pleasure of speaking with a lady last night from Orange County who had an opportunity to speak briefly with Gov. Huckabee. She asked him if he would ever consider going back to pastoring a church. His reply was that if that was what God wanted him to do, he would, but for now, running for President was what he was called to do.

Would you rather have a person in the White House who follows the voice of God, or one who follows the voice of man. We have already witnessed what following man's voice produces...why not see what God can do through a willing vessel who has already proved what can be done through obedience.

I really like what I hear about Mike Huckabee - even before he began running for president.

Being an Arkansan and a Christian, Mike Huckabee is the man I want to vote for. I don't agree with all his views but I agree with more of his platform than any other candidate. I especially appreciate that he's pro life.

Unless God intervenes I don't believe he'll make it on the presidential ballot this time, but who knows? God is in control and if not this year, maybe in 2012....

What a faithful supporter you have been.

I, too, was ready to cast my vote in November for Huckabee....now we must prayerfully consider the choices at hand. Well, truth be told...for me, there is only one choice....but it's still important to pray!
