DreamsOfComingHome

"I had a dream last night that Whit came home"

"I need to tell you about a dream I had about your daughter. I walked into church and she was just sitting there!"

"Mom, I had a dream last night. We were all in a car. I looked up and Whit was sitting in the car with us."

"I had a weird dream as I was waking up this morning. I walked into the office and Whit was sitting behind the desk waiting for me. I knew she was home for good."

"I had a dream I came home..."

I had a dream........I had a dream........I had a dream.....

Wow, something happens in that state between sound sleep and the twinkling feeling of waking up...it is a time when our worries and cares have been covered over by the blanket of rest, and somehow our inner ears pop wide open to hear a God word. It may be only a few seconds or a few minutes, but during this "open window" an idea is planted or a thought becomes reality. My Dad has said that during this window, many solutions to problems manifest.

One of my favorite stories in the whole Bible centered around dreams...the dreams of Joseph. His dreams led him from a comfortable home life where he was the favored child, to a pit. From that hell hole where his jealous brothers dumped him to be left for dead, he was eventually lead to a prison where his God given dreams caused his exultation to second in command of all Egypt. Needless to say, dreams can be life changing!

Dreams have been playing an important part in our lives these past several months while our daughter has been at boot camp. We knew she was supposed to go, but also knew in our hearts, she was not there to begin a career in the military, but to be trained and molded to face the changes ahead of her with a firm commitment to God.

People all around us have been having dreams about our daughter coming home, and in the last week, they have escalated. It is God screaming a loud..."Did you hear?....I'll say it again...she's coming home..." Matt and Whit were having dreams before anyone else, but as the time approached for her to come home, everyone was dreaming and seeing Whit pop up in normal, everyday places.

YESTERDAY...YES....YESTERDAY we received word she is coming home. Matt, the love of her life, shouted when we gave him the news...this same Matt who has prayed for her every day, who has written her multiple letters every day and who has faithfully stood by her. Our little daughter will be home within a few weeks.

And the dreams? The dreams have pointed to her sudden appearance...so I put sheets on her bed last night and am preparing for a home coming.
